Transgender boy wins girls’ wrestling championship in Texas

High school wrestler Mack Beggs walked out of the Texas sports complex with a smile on his face and a gold medal dangling from his neck. He had just won the University Interscholastic League (UIL) state championship, making him the league’s first transgender boy to win a girls’ state wrestling title.
#ChynaGibson is the third reported murder of a Black transgender woman this month.

Transgender woman Chyna Doll Dupree was shot and killed outside of a shopping center in New Orleans Saturday night, according to the Times-Picayune.
Dupree was also a drag performer. Though the Times-Picayune did identify her as trans, it also chose to “dead name” Dupree, meaning it used her birth name in the story.
